Fibronectin (FN) is a particularly important and well-studied component of the extracellular matrix, and is known to play a key role in cell adhesion, growth, spreading, migration, differentiation and proliferation. Fn is a 200-250 kDa glycoprotein composed of 2 subunits bound via a disulfide bond. Currently, the Fn is purified from the plasma, which however is limited by the availability of supply. The the recombinant human fibronectin (OsrhFN) was expressed in the rice endosperm platform, which is animal component free and has high purity, and has been demonstrated has the same physical and chemical with the plasma derived Fn. OsrhFN provides a safety solution to replace the plasma derived FN.

| Items | OsrHSA (rice-derived) | ScrHSA (yeast-derived) |
| Safety | Free of animal, Virus, Pathogene, low endotoxin | Possible residual yeast cell wall components (such as B-glucan),additional removal of endotoxins required |
| Post-translational modifications | No glycosylation modification, structure identical to native HSA | Glycosylation modification, Risk of inclusion formation requires reproducibility |
| Production process | Simple process with Three-step chromatography purification | High-density fermentation is costly, with more complex production process |
| Scale up | Low-cost in rice cultivation Long-term stable storage in rice seeds Single-batch purification cycle: 24h Low immunogenicity, suitable for stem/primary cells, high batch consistency |
High capital investment for fermentation equipmentSingle-batch production cycle:3-7 days Residual host proteins affect cell growth, batch difference exists |
| Cell culture compatibility | ||
| Regulation and ethics | Comply with regulations and shorten the filing time, environmentally fri endly and sustainable |
Microbial fermentation requires strict GMP control, Acceptance of genetically modified yeast varies by region |

Yes, we do. From our comparative test, OsrHSA is structurelly and biochemically equivalent to pHSA, and functions equivalently to pHSA in terms of binding capacity and promotion of cell growth. In addition, OsrHSA displays the same immunogenicity as pHSA.
